Detailed Description
Registered overseas students may be permitted to take Additional campus based examinations at an approved overseas centre in your home country. This is a special dispensation and there is no automatic right for you to be able to do so.
If you are unsure whether your examinations will be online or campus based, please contact your School who can advise you.
The following Schools will NOT allow campus based examinations to be taken overseas. Where this is the case, please DO NOT apply as your application will be refused.
Geography (postgraduate only), Geology, Modern Languages and STEM Foundation.
Therefore, the only schools who will allow you to sit your campus based resit exams overseas are:
- Biological Sciences (please contact bsadmin@le.ac.uk prior to making an application to check if your module is approved to be taken overseas).
- Business
- Chemistry
- Engineering
- Geography (undergraduate only)
- Law
- Mathematics
- Natural Sciences
- Physics
- Psychology (except RESITS for PS1103, PS1107, PS2104, PS2105 and PS2106 - these are in-person on-campus workshops)
Campus based examinations will be arranged primarily through the British Council. Where there is no British Council Office available, educational institutions may be considered, providing that the security of the University’s examination procedures can be adhered to. British Council centre details can be found on the British Council website.
The £225 charge for this service is to cover administration costs. The overseas centre will also charge you a fee for conducting your examinations, so please check with them first. Do not pay any fees until you know your examinations will be campus based. Failure to take up any approved arrangements will not entitle you to a refund where arrangements have been made.
On receipt of your application the Timetabling and Examinations Office will make an initial approach to the British Council/Institution specified on your application
Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstance.
