The School of Geography, Geology and Environment has worked with Holcim to develop and deliver this e-Learning short course in aggregate extraction in sand & gravel quarries. The program is only available to employees of Holcim and its group companies, and group access to the course will normally be organised and paid for at country or regional level. Individuals should therefore speak to their Learning and Development manager in the first instance.
Detailed Description
The Mining program is divided into two parts. Part 1 needs to be taken first, followed by one of the three options in Part 2. This Hard Rock option of Part 2 covers the additional aspects of aggregate extraction required by those involved with hard rock operations. It comprises the following 3 courses:
- Hard Rock Geotechnics
- Drilling and Blasting
- Extraction (hard rock only)
The program takes approximately 4 hours of study, and on successful completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion from the University of Leicester. Further details can be obtained from Toby White at the University ([email protected]), +44 7731 970 692.
Cost
The cost for this program is £65 (GBP) per learner. If you wish to make a credit card payment to cover a group of Holcim employees, then please continue by adding the relevant number to your basket.
