The School of Geography, Geology and Environment has worked with Aggregate Industries in the UK to develop and deliver this e-Learning short course in asphalt. The program is only available to employees of Aggregate Industries and other Holcim group companies. Group access to the course will normally be organised and paid for at country or regional level. Individuals should therefore speak to their Learning and Development manager in the first instance.
Detailed Description
The program is designed to give an introduction to various aspects of asphalt technology and production, and comprises the following three courses with a number of units in each:
- Introduction
- Introduction to asphalt and use
- Asphalt Constituents
- Plant Operation
- Cold Feed
- Dryer Principles
- Dryer and Baghouse Operation
- Elevator and Tower
- Mixing and Discharge
The cost of the program is £150 (GBP) per participant, who will receive a Certificate of Completion from the University of Leicester upon successful completion.
