Quantitative Methods in Applied Health Research

Quantitative Methods in Applied Health Research is a 5 day course for health and social care researchers. In this course you will be given an introduction to and consider the advantages and disadvantages of a range of quantitative methodologies (including clinical trials, observational designs, using real world evidence, health economics and systematic review and meta-analysis). We will explore statistical methods using the statistical software Stata, including descriptive, univariate and adjusted analyses. You will learn how to identify the appropriate statistical method to be used given a specific research question and how to interpret numerical evidence from research in a clear and appropriate scientific format.

The course is being held at the University of Leicester. It is taught over the following dates (9:00am – 4:00pm)

Monday 4th November (Ken Edwards Building), Tuesday 5th November 2024 (Bennett Building)

Monday 18th November (Bennett Building), Tuesday 19th November 2024 (George Davies Centre)

Tuesday 3rd December 2024 (George Davies Centre am, Bennett and Adrian Buildings pm)

This is an attendance only non-credit bearing course.
