This course is run in collaboration between the University of Leicester’s Centre for Rights and Equality in Health Law, Leicester Medical School, and the Medical Protection Society. It aims to tackle some of the basic practical skills needed by doctors at all stages of their clinical practice, such as writing coroner’s statements and good complaint management, as well as covering some of the core principles of clinical negligence and the Death Certification process, so that these vital processes and pathways can be de-mystified. With this course, we aim to increase skills and confidence in applying medico-legal theory to everyday scenarios.
